Call for Submissions

The Spring Issue of Circumference

is now open for poetry and art submissions.

It is time to speak out.

Talking about the world’s ills, my brother said, “And there is nothing we can do.”  But there is something that we can do.  We are writers.  We can speak out.  We must.  We must publish poems of protest, poems of awareness, poems of beauty.  We must publish alarms, alerts, and reminders.  We must publish poems that illuminate humane and responsible paths forward.

Circumference Zine is committed to doing our part.

And we are asking for your help.

We are looking for poetry that provides the things we need:

Peace, in a world full of violence

Truth, in a world of abundant mendacity

Courage, in a world that offers plenty to fear

Outrage, in a world with copious injustice

Freedom, in a world where many would hoard it only for themselves

Equality, in a world where some people have so much more than their share

Compassion, in a world that can offer challenges

Hope, in hard times

Beauty, of which there is never enough

We will also welcome a measure of kindness, a modicum of patience, a jot of humility, or a dash of humor.

Besides poetry, we will publish a limited amount of photography or other visual art.  And we may also consider publishing links to video or audio poetry and art.

And, speaking of needs, we could use a few volunteers to help us get our Zine out:

Someone who knows WordPress to help us do a smoother job of getting Circumference out.

Someone who might assist with Layout and Design who can help integrate artwork into our zine and make the presentation clear, straight forward, and attractive.

Someone to work on Publicity to increase our circulation.
